Fauns
(Fauni) (Rome):
Often
confused with Greek satyrs, Roman Fauns were the sons of Faunus and Fauna,
ancient Gods of the Forest. These demi-gods were considered “Di Indigetes,” native Roman Gods. According
to the Romans, these half-goat, half human beasts protected the forests from
harm, and were keepers of the countryside.
